Found what I was looking for… sort of!

Well, about a week ago I was looking for a name for an Etsy shop I’m considering creating and instead I found a new name and more defined purpose for my blog. Lymnour, the Middle English spelling of Limner: a person who describes or depicts in words; an illuminator of medieval manuscripts. I love to write, never said I was good at it, just that I love it. And since they say practice makes perfect what better way to practice than to blog.

I’m sure I will bore you at times, I might interest you at others, but I can guarantee one thing – this blog will be all me. It will be things that interest me, pictures I’ve taken, quotes I’ve found and want to share, art I’ve done, art I like and want to promote, and glimpses into my (often boring) everyday life.

I already have lots of ideas for this space and I hope you will find what I have to offer interesting. I encourage you to comment and interact with me. Let me know what you think, good or bad. Offer me future post suggestions,  I will consider them and give you credit if I use yours.

Envelope Journals

Well I finally completed a couple envelope journals… what’s an envelope journal you ask??? It’s a booklet you make from envelopes for you to keep little items you’d like to hold on to… Your own writings, ticket stubs, newspaper/magazine clippings, your child’s artwork, etc…

The two I’ve made here are made from as many recycled materials as possbile. The covers are made from starbucks coffee bags from recent purchases, the hand made envelopes are kraft paper I had in the house and printed paper that was purchased for another project, the binding rings (on one) are left overs from a previous project and the string binding (on the other) was something we had laying around the house.

I created the template for the envelopes because I was looking for a very specific size and style of envelopes.
